1-language.com - the ESL Site for everyone learning English! Free and comprehensive collection of resources for students and teachers of English as a second language!

ABC Teach
Site includes activities and templates for many areas of curriculum along with seasonal activities. This is a great site for teachers. It contains reproducibles and forms, lessons, holiday ideas, themes, and links to other good sites. It is geared towards elementary teachers K-5.

Ask Dr. Math
Math topics are archived by grade level with a searchable index. Students can also submit their own questions to Dr. Math. The site includes Problems of the week, web units and lessons, and K-12 teacher resources.

ASK Eric
A great range of educational lessons plans available. Click on TOPICS A-Z button at the top of the page and see the disciplines and topics available. Wonderful resource.

Awesome Library - This site organizes your World Wide Web exploration using 12,000 carefully reviewed resources. Sites are broken down into categories for: teachers, kids, teens, parents, librarians, and community.

ClipArt For Teachers
This is a DOE recommended site for subject specific clipart for teachers. Pass it along to your colleagues in ELA & Social Studies at the Ahern. Unlike similar sites, the clip art offered through a subscription service on this site is lesson-specific. Teachers can sign up to download appropriate clip art for social studies, science, language, arts and math.

Filamentality
Filamentality is a fill-in-the-blank interactive Web site that guides you through picking a topic, searching the Web, gathering good Internet sites, and turning Web resources into learning activities. It helps combine the "filaments" of the Web with a learner's "mentality". Support is built-in through Mentality Tips that guide you along the way to creating a Web-based activity you can share with others even if you don't know anything about HTML, Web servers, or all that www-dot stuff.

Free Scholarship Infomation - this site is offers students a wide variety of information concerning scholarship offerings.

Gifted Research Homepage
Kay Law, who is a national presenter of workshops on gifted and talented education, recommends this site. I attended one of her outstanding workshops this fall with some Foxboro colleagues. Kay includes this in her "top 10" list. It provides a list of resources for teaching gifted and talented children.

Illuminations, Principles and Standards for School Mathematics
This web page offers "i-Math Investigations", internet-based lesson plans, and web resources. These are all broken down into the K-2, 3-4, 5-6, etc… grade ranges as identified in the NCTM and state frameworks. The site is awesome!

Kids Hub
Free online interactive learning games, puzzles and quizzes. Best for elementary and middle school students. Topics include language arts, math, science, social studies, foreign language, current events, and learning activities. Very nice site.

Kidsites.com - Approved Sites
This site is a leader in the protection of kids on the internet. They have a staff of personnel who review sites for their appropriateness for children. If a site meets their approval, it is listed with appealing graphics and a brief explanation of what the link is about. The sites are listed by category, breaking them into academic areas of learning. Their links are educational and safe for children of all ages.

NCES Classroom
This is an excellent site sponsored by the National Center for Education Statistics. While the home site has many options of interest, the math links help children recognize the importance of understanding data. Activities range from making and using a variety of graphs to playing simulated probability games. The site is very user friendly and worth the visit!

Noodle Tools
NoodleTools is a free suite of interactive tools designed to aid students and professionals with their online research. From selecting a search engine and finding some relevant sources, to citing those sources in MLA style, NoodleTools makes online research easier.

Office of Special Education Intervention Techniques
This site contains ideas for effective techniques to use in teaching special education students across discipline areas through all grade levels.

Webquests for Grades 5-6 - Just about everything you need to know about WebQuests and links to almost every valueable WebQuest site. There are links to all grade levels.

This site gives strategies for literature circles. It is full of great information on how to pick the books, form the groups, and how to prepare the students for literature circles.

The naked truth

US Shrimp Farming Program
The U.S. Marine Shrimp Farming Program is an integrated multi-state research program that continues to develop and transfer technologies, products and services necessary for domestic shrimp farming to become competitive in the world market.
